Call for papers – Conference “The Challenges of Artificial Intelligence for Law in Europe"

Values, Rights, and Regulation in the European Legal Space

2022. március 1. 0:00 - 2022. április 15. 23:59

The French Institute, the French Embassy in Hungary, and the Institute for Legal Studies of the Centre for Social Sciences are pleased to announce the opening of the call for papers for the conference “The Challenges of Artificial Intelligence for Law in Europe: Values, Rights, and Regulation in the European Legal Space” which will be held on 9th and 10th June 2022 in Budapest and online.

The conference aims to give a platform for a critical, contextually oriented analysis and discussion of present and prospective legal regulation of AI and its impact in Europe, and of the need for such regulation and for further regulation in general. We would like to focus on three issues in particular:

  • the justifiability and the suitability of the developing EU regulatory landscape;
  • the legal challenges of the use of Automated Decision-Making (ADM) solutions in the judicial process;
  • data bias and data discrimination.

In addition to the keynote speakers, we would like to open the conference to other contributors. They will have the opportunity to give a 20-minute presentation and debate with the other experts.

We invite interested scholars and lawyers to send their proposals of papers before April 15th 2022 at 23:59 to Marton Varju: varju.marton@tk.hu. Proposals should not exceed 500 words.
