Les frontières héritées de Trianon ont eu un effet profondément diviseur et générateur de tensions en Europe centrale et orientale. Cependant, l’adhésion de la Hongrie et de certains autres Etats de la région à l’Union européenne a initié une dynamique de développement de la coopération transfrontalière, contribuant à pacifier les relations entre les pays.
Plus d’un siècle après Trianon et près de 20 ans après l’élargissement de l’UE aux PECO, quel est l’état de la coopération transfrontalière en Europe centrale et orientale ? Quelles perspectives offre-t-elle ?
Autant de questions auxquelles nos experts français, hongrois, roumains et slovaques tenteront de répondre.

Conference: “Trianon, 100 Years After. Cross-Border Cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe”
On October 27th, from 10.30 am to 5.10 pm, at the French Institute
The borders inherited from Trianon had a profoundly divisive effect and generated tension in Central and Eastern Europe. However, the accession of Hungary and certain other states in the region to the European Union has initiated a dynamic of development of cross-border cooperation, helping to pacify relations between the countries.
More than a century after Trianon and almost 20 years after the enlargement of the EU to include these countries, what is the state of cross-border cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe? What prospects does it offer?
As many questions as our French, Hungarian, Romanian and Slovak experts will try to answer.
